The style and method of teaching at Joshua Bible College has been employed from the beginning of time. (Gen 5:18-24) This method is called " Hhanokh " (devoted, a.k.a. mentoring). Once an application has been accepted by a "devoted Rabbi," the student begins their education.
Mentoring's purpose is to help the Mentee realize their potential while generating results built on respect and trust, sharing knowledge, and ensuring the issue is thoroughly discussed and resolved, as available information allows.
We're committed to offering excellent Biblical education in a flexible format.
Basic requirements for Admissions.
Autobiography:
The Autobiography is composed of three short sections. Each section is 250 words or less in explanation of,
1) your soulful growth,
2) your understanding of the WORD of GOD,
3) your reason to do ministry
4) Reason for applying to JBC.
You will need to write your autobiography in the designated section of our application.
Recommendation Form: All applicants must receive 2 official recommendations, 1 from a family member. Family members. There may be instances when the Admissions Office requests additional information from references.
How to provide the recommendation: In the application package sent, you will find 3 Recommendation Forms and instructions. Only JBC official forms will be accepted.
Academic Credit:
All applicants requesting past academic credit must submit all academic transcripts. Life experience: Credit must submit all proof of Life Skills. A student can request the LSA (Life Skills Application)
What is credit for Life Skills experiences?
Receiving college credit for life skills experience can make higher education more affordable and accessible, allowing students to spend less time in a classroom. JBC awards college credit based on a student's credentials, professional training, test results, and other life experiences.
By definition, “Life Skills Experience,” or should we say “Life Credits,” is obtained through specific activities such as community work, volunteerism, seminars, workshops, skills training, or participation in an organization.
Academic Transcripts: Transcription from the educational institution or institutions that conferred any required degrees or certifications should be submitted to the Admissions Office. Diploma applicants must submit an official copy of their high school diploma or GED, unless they have completed at least 24 hours of college credit. An official transcript will include grades received for each course and date of graduation, and should be sent directly from the college or school attended to the Admissions Office.
Placement Tests (All Masters in Ministry Applicants Only): Students applying to the Bachelor or Master of Ministry degree must pass Greek and Hebrew placement exams. These exams cover basic Greek & Hebrew language courses & can be completed at a distance with a proctor.
Advanced Master in Ministry degree applicants must first apply for admission and submit all required documents. Upon receipt of all application materials, applicants will be reviewed for preliminary admission to the graduate program. At which point, the student should contact the JBC administration to make arrangements for placement tests.
Academic Paper: This is a requirement for Advanced Master of Ministry and all Doctoral applicants. Applicants are required to submit a writing sample from their undergraduate or Ministry education, respectively. This requirement allows for proper analysis of an applicant’s writing and research abilities. You must submit an unmarked sample from your previous schooling? It should be a clean copy and may account for the former professor’s editorial comments.
It is our goal to graduate our students debt-free. Graduating debt-free allows our students to pursue ministry unencumbered by student loans and debt. In addition, Joshua Bible College offers the following scholarships and grants to qualified students:
What is a scholarship trait?
Scholarship means a commitment to learning. A student is willing to spend hours reading and studying, knowing the lasting benefits of a cultivated mind. Commitment to academic study or achievement, learning at a high level, and be willing to share what they have learned with others.
President’s Scholarship:
This scholarship is awarded to licensed, ordained, or commissioned ministers. To qualify, submit a copy (no originals, please) of the license, ordination, or commission certificate at the time of application. The scholarship is up to 75% and will be deducted from the total cost of tuition.
Returning Student Grant:
This grant is awarded to all students who have previously completed a Joshua Bible College degree program and are pursuing another degree program through JBC. The grant is up to 10% and will be deducted from the total cost of tuition and applied upon activation of the student’s next degree program.
Internships or Teaching assistants: Grants may be available to Graduate Students. The goal of the intern program is to create a community of people willing and equipped to live out the JHM mission. The two main ways we envision this happening is through education and community. Because we deeply value the work and help those interns provide our organization, we have structured the intern program to give back to interns professionally and their personal development. Joshua Bible College has partnered with the FRIEDEL CLINIC, which offers Merit and Needs-based Scholarships and Grants.
Joshua Bible College has partnered with the FRIEDEL FAMILY FOUNDATION that offers Merit and Need-based Scholarships and Grants for the FRIEDEL FAMILY FOUNDATION's specific purposes fund research education and treatment of brain health and mood dysregulation.
Merit-based: These awards are based on a student's academic or other abilities and are often a factor in an applicant's extracurricular activities and community service record. The most common merit-based scholarships, awarded by either private organizations or directly by a student's intended college, recognize academic achievement or high scores on standardized tests. Most such merit-based scholarships are paid directly by the institution the student attends rather than issued directly to the student.
Need-based: Some private need-based awards are called scholarships and require the results of the family's needs. However, scholarships are often merit-based, while grants tend to be need-based.
Scholarship:
Definition: Financial support based on academic achievement or other criteria that may include financial need. The donor of the scholarship sets the criteria for recipient selection. The grantor specifically intends money to be spent to defray the costs of study, training, or research. Proceeds of the scholarship offset the cost of the student's education for an upcoming or current academic year, depending on when the student receives the funds.
Grant:
Definition: Financial support based on academic achievement or other criteria that may include financial need. A grant recipient is selected based on specific criteria, which the Granting institution typically sets. Generally, the grant proceeds are used to offset the cost of the student's education for an upcoming or current academic year for performance or criteria met during the previous academic year.
Distance education, also called distance learning, is the education of students who may not always be physically present at a school. (Traditionally, this usually involved correspondence courses wherein the student corresponded with the school via mail JBC does not offer correspondence courses). Today, it usually involves online education.
A distance learning program can be completely distance learning or a combination of distance learning and traditional classroom instruction (called hybrid or blended). Blended class is how JBC defines "Distance Learning."
JBC students are required to attend all classes just as if they're attending on campus. JBC uses Zoom Classroom technology.
Distance learning traditionally has focused on nontraditional students, such as full-time workers, military personnel, and nonresidents or individuals in remote regions who cannot attend classroom lectures. However, distance learning has become an established part of the JBC, with trends pointing to ongoing growth.
Each course, Basic or Undergraduate, offered at JBC is calculated by credit hrs.
Each course, Graduate and Post-Graduate, offered at JBC is calculated by credit hrs.
The Doctor Ministry of Philosophy, Ph.D. in Clinical Biblical Neurotheology, is a 2080-hour (equivalent to 1 full-time year in clinical residency) Clinical and Classroom educational program, and can be a paid position.
The N.C.C.A. requires all who are certified or licensed by its Licensing Board of Examiners to:
1. Be credentialed ministers (ordained, licensed, or commissioned) whose goal is to evangelize and ease humanity's emotional pain and suffering. All ministerial credentials are subject to review and may be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the determination.
2. Provide their service under the authority of a legally organized
local church, a national church organization, or a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit ministry.
3. Complete specialized training provided by the N.C.C.A.
4. Complete the minimum requirements for continuing education and annual license renewal.
5. Uphold N.C.C.A.'s Code of Ethical Standards.
Complete Phase I Courses, Additional Requirements: Each candidate must:
• Complete a practicum. This consists of administering the A.P.S. to 10 individuals and (3) hours of clinical supervision under the direction of an assigned and approved clinical supervisor.
• Upon completion of the required courses, submit the following:
a. Written responses to 50 ethical questions posed by the N.C.C.A.'s Licensing Board of Examiners.
b. $50 for the first year's annual dues.
c. A signed Application for Certification/Membership form.
d. a signed copy of N.C.C.A.'s Code of Ethical Standards.
Upon completion of Phase I requirements, subsequent review, and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive the following:
• a Certified Temperament Counselor certificate and
• a Clinical Member (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical Member (clergy) certificate, membership.
Complete Phase II Courses, Additional Requirements: Each candidate must:
• Complete a practicum. This consists of administering the A.P.S. to 15 additional individuals and (3) hours of clinical supervision under the direction of an assigned and approved clinical supervisor.
• Upon completion of the required courses, submit the following:
a. A signed application for an N.C.C.A. license.
b. The Notification and Release Form for Personal National Screening authorizes a national background check to verify each candidate's history. (Candidates with felony convictions do not qualify for licensing with the N.C.C.A.)
c. Submit current ministerial credentials. (*All candidates must have current ministerial credentials to be credentialed as a pastoral counselor by the National Christian Counselors Association.)
d. A certification/licensing fee of $100.
Upon completion of Phase II requirements, subsequent review, and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive the following:
• Certified Pastoral Counselor (high-school diploma, G.E.D., or Associate)
• Licensed Pastoral Counselor (holds a Bachelor's)
• Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor (holds a Master's)
• Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor-Advanced Certification (holds a Doctorate)
• Certified Temperament Pastoral Counselor (Optional) (additional $39 fee applies)
